POLAR BEAR (Ursus maritimus)
Polar bear cubs are born blind, tothless, covered with short soft fur in the shelter of mother’s den in winter. An average litter has two cubs. Cubs grow rapidly, thanks to their mother’s rich milk, with 31% fat. When the family leaves the den, the 3-4 months cubs weigh about 10-15 kg (22-33 lb).
